HYBYCOZO is the collaborative art practice of Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk. Together, they create large-scale sculptures and immersive installations that explore geometry, pattern, light, material, and perception. Their work draws from mathematics, science, natural systems, and global traditions of pattern-making, transforming these ideas through contemporary design and fabrication.

Geometry is central to their practice as a way of investigating the structures and relationships that shape the natural world. Repetition, symmetry, proportion, and complexity become tools for creating sculptures that shift with their surroundings as light moves through perforated surfaces, shadows extend across the landscape, and changing viewpoints continuously reorganize the work.

Placemaking lies at the heart of HYBYCOZO’s work. Their sculptures create landmarks, gathering spaces, and moments of discovery, inviting people to pause, look closely, and experience public space differently. Their work has been exhibited and installed at museums, botanical gardens, civic spaces, and sites throughout the world. Through sculpture, HYBYCOZO explores connection between mathematics, nature, material, light, individuals, and larger systems.

The studio is based in Los Angeles. Permanent artworks stand in Dubai, Istanbul, Las Vegas, Sacramento, San Francisco, New Zealand, and the Bay Area, and the studio has exhibited with the Smithsonian, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Oakland Museum of California, the Ulrich Museum of Art, and the Sharjah Museum of Art.
